{"id":403637,"date":"2026-04-29T18:42:07","date_gmt":"2026-04-29T18:42:07","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/403637\/"},"modified":"2026-04-29T18:42:07","modified_gmt":"2026-04-29T18:42:07","slug":"delight-as-hornseas-starfish-galaxy-trail-starts-to-take-shape","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/403637\/","title":{"rendered":"Delight as Hornsea&#8217;s Starfish Galaxy trail starts to take shape"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The installations <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bbc.co.uk\/news\/articles\/cp384l2e0qzo\" class=\"ssrcss-1e0jzsh-InlineLink e1kn3p7n0\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">were initially delayed<\/a> after the group was told each piece required its own planning approval.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The first sculpture to go up, called Lake-Land By The Sea, was designed by Katy Cobb, who was inspired by an old railway poster.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">She said: &#8220;This is amazing, it goes from having the starfish at home where I&#8217;m painting it and all of a sudden it&#8217;s a real-life thing that&#8217;s happening.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;I kept coming back to the old, early 20th-Century posters for Hornsea. It was just perfect to do something like that.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">King said the trail was a community-funded project, which received a range of donations including \u00a35 in pocket money up to business donations of \u00a32,500 for a starfish.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">&#8220;To see the amount of people who have come to support the event has made it so special,&#8221; she said. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The installations were initially delayed after the group was told each piece required its own planning approval.
