Charli XCX<\/a> has announced a Conversations event in New York City, amid reports that a new album is on the way.<\/p>\n

The \u2018Brat\u2019 pop star took to Instagram on Tuesday (April 28), revealing that she is holding an event in New York City. The picture is in the style of headed notepaper, with the print at the top reading: \u201cNew York, May 2026. Conversations.\u201d Below, a handwritten note saying: \u201cWould love to talk w you,\u201d followed by a heart, and \u201clots of love from Charli xcx\u201d again in print.<\/p>\n

The image\u2019s caption reads: \u201cI love talking about making things and process and stuff with my friends so if you want to ask me questions about creative process \/ song writing \/ anything else that would be cute. Wanna hear what you\u2019re making too. would love to talk with you <3,\u201d before linking to her official website. The link leads to an \u201cRSVP\u201d sign-up form.<\/p>\n

Her last studio album was 2024\u2019s \u2018Brat\u2019, the release which became a cultural phenomenon<\/a>, giving rise to \u201c\u2019Brat\u2019 Summer\u201d and confirming Charli XCX as a global superstar. Since then, she has released a soundtrack album for Emerald Fennell\u2019s Wuthering Heights.<\/a><\/p>\n

Earlier this month, her team confirmed that the \u2018360\u2019 singer was finishing work on her new album<\/a>, while Charli herself implied the next release would be going in a rock direction. In an interview with Vogue, she declared: \u201cI think the dance floor is dead, so now we\u2019re making rock music\u201d.<\/a><\/p>\n

Elsewhere in the piece, she also revealed that she was determined not to make \u2018Brat 2.0\u2019. \u201cIf I\u2019d made another album that felt more dance-leaning, it would have felt really hard, really sad,\u201d she confessed. \u201cWhat\u2019s interesting for me is to bend the possibilities of what my perspective on that could be\u201d.<\/p>\n
