Fresh from the success of her action-packed series The Last Thing He Told Me, Jennifer Garner is slowing down the pace with her new miniseries, The Five-Star Weekend.<\/p>\n
In the new Peacock drama, which premieres locally on BINGE<\/a> on July 9, the actress plays a recently widowed chef-fluencer and cookbook author named Hollis Shaw who invites her closest girlfriends on a weekend away to the coastal town of Nantucket in Massachusetts.<\/p>\n The first-look trailer was released this week boasts an all-star cast of Regina Hall, Chlo\u00eb Sevigny, Gemma Chan and D\u2019Arcy Carden, who each play Hollis\u2019 nearest and dearest from different chapters of her life.<\/p>\n But her friendships with the women are tested on the soul-searching trip when long-held secrets and buried tensions soon surface. <\/p>\n Stream The Five-Star Weekend from July 9 on BINGE, available on Hubbl<\/a>.<\/p>\n The seemingly perfect life Hollis built then begins to unravel as her strained marriage and complicated relationship with her daughter are uncovered. <\/p>\n The series also features Judy Greer, Garner\u2019s co-star in the hit rom-com Suddenly 30 \u2013 the pair most recently appeared on screen together in The Last Thing He Told Me. <\/p>\n Rising star Harlow Jane \u2013 the daughter of Hollywood stars Patricia Arquette and Thomas Jane \u2013 will play Garner\u2019s on-screen daughter, Caroline.<\/p>\n \u201cIn an effort to overcome grief and find herself again, Hollis gets the idea to host a weekend away at her house on Nantucket with three friends from different stages in her life: her childhood, her twenties, her thirties, and one surprise fifth star,\u201d reads the logline for the series, which is based on author Elin Hilderbrand\u2019s 2023 novel of the same name.<\/p>\n \u201cSet against a luxurious and coastal backdrop, the stars will mature in ways they could never imagine as boundaries are pushed and secrets are exposed.\u201d<\/p>\n Speaking to Hello!<\/a> last year while in the middle of filming, Garner said she loved the sisterhood of making the show with her co-stars.<\/p>\n \u201cI think this is a role about friendship. It\u2019s a role about growing at this stage in your life,\u201d she told the magazine. \u201cIt\u2019s women who are in the middle of this \u2013 what is their next chapter going to be? What\u2019s their next story going to be? Their story is not done.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s about how relationships can be messy. But kind of like my galette, they\u2019re still worth working on. And they\u2019re still going to be delicious in the end.
