The Neighbourhood continued to ramp up the pressure this Friday (1 May) as the experiment reached its fifth episode – and with the competition now firmly underway, the street is starting to feel different from the early days of the competition.

Graham Norton’s ITV series has already seen its first exits, with families voted out as the pressure begins to mount. Among those no longer in the running are Liverpool twins Lyndsey and Louise, who formed two thirds of the Scouse Haus with Lyndsey’s girlfriend Rosie. The trio left the competition in earlier episodes, and have since been replaced by the Khans.

On-screen, the Khans are still settling in. But The Scouse Haus’ brief time on the show is still being felt, as their approach to alliances and strategy continues to influence how the remaining households are playing the game.

Liverpool twins Lyndsey and Louise Scott made an instant impression when The Neighbourhood launched, presenting themselves as energetic, likeable and sharp. Living alongside Rosie, the pair wasted little time embedding themselves into street politics and built bonds with their neighbours.

However, it became increasingly clear that the trio weren’t afraid to play the game. This became especially apparent during the first Removal, when Scouse Haus made the bold decision to vote against their budding pals, the Uni Boys. The move established them firmly as strategic players, and the betrayal did not go unnoticed.

For some viewers, Lyndsey and Louise may have seemed familiar. Long before stepping into The Neighbourhood, the twins had already basked in the spotlight with a brief appearance on Taskmaster.

In October 2025, Lyndsey and Louise appeared in the third episode of the show’s 20th season as part of one of its cleverly deceptive tasks. The twins became central to a challenge in which the contestants – Reece Shearsmith, Maisie Adam, Sanjeev Bhaskar, Phil Ellis and Ania Magliano – were tasked with identifying a person in the lab. But none of them realised that two near-identical participants were secretly switching places to trick them.

Speaking about the experience to Radio Times, Lyndsey and Louise shared that they relished their time on Taskmaster. “The best part was seeing how it worked,” Louise said. “It was so fun and it was exactly how it is on telly.”

The twins’ appetite for unpredictability appears to align perfectly with their decision to join The Neighbourhood. “We always say we don’t want our energy to look the same,” Lyndsey said. “I feel like when the opportunity came up, we were like, ‘Of course.'”

That high-energy mindset was put to the test during the twins’ last challenge in The Neighbourhood, when Scouse Haus faced another critical decision following their second neighbourhood challenge. This time, they were handed the power to strip the Campbell-Grahams of their immunity.

In a move that surprised some of their rivals, Scouse Haus chose not to target the new family, instead hoping that their gesture of goodwill would earn them support in a future Removal. But their plans was foiled as some residents saw right through their strategy.

Now five episodes in, The Neighbourhood is firmly into its strategic phase. Even though Lyndsey and Louise left the game, their early willingness to play tactically helped set the tone for what kind of competition the show became.

Since leaving the game, and as the street continues to divide, Lyndsey, Louise and Rosie have launched their own podcast and spoken candidly about their experience on The Neighbourhood on social media.

As trust continues to erode and rivalries take shape, the competition on The Neighbourhood is reaching boiling point with another Removal looming on the horizon – and some alliances may become game-changing. This Friday’s episode ended on a cliffhanger as Graham stepped onto the street to announce another Removal – but who will join the Scouse Haus back in the outside world?

The Neighbourhood airs on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
