Avengers: Doomsday<\/a> is on the horizon, with an upcoming Disney+ show set to make it even more exciting. Avengers: Doomsday’s story<\/a> is the biggest to be released in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for years. Not only will it conclude some big story arcs of the Multiverse Saga, but it will lead into a soft reboot for the franchise, thanks to another upcoming Marvel movie<\/a> and Doomsday’s sequel, Avengers: Secret Wars.<\/p>\n

Avengers: Doomsday’s cast<\/a> is perhaps its most exciting aspect, as it unites several major heroes of the MCU. Chris Evans is set to return as Captain America, with Robert Downey Jr.’s Dr. Doom serving as the main villain. Beyond that, the New Avengers, Fantastic Four, and X-Men are set to join forces with Captain America and Thor.<\/p>\n

This alone makes Avengers: Doomsday an MCU fan’s dream, as some of the biggest heroes and teams come together. Arguably, the most exciting team involved in the movie is the X-Men, who haven’t appeared in a mainstream movie since 2014. For this reason, their return is overly anticipated, which will only be bolstered by another upcoming Marvel project.<\/p>\n

X-Men ’97 season 1 was released in 2024, and while it was anticipated, no one truly expected it to be as good as it was. The animation was stunning, its writing was complex, its messaging was impactful, and the action was exciting. Overall, X-Men ’97 season 1 surprised a lot of people by being one of the best X-Men projects ever made.<\/p>\n

This was the consensus for audiences and critics alike. The show is one of the highest-rated in the MCU on IMDb, with the same being said for critical reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.<\/p>\n

X-Men ’97 season 2 will only continue building hype for Avengers: Doomsday. Although the former will not connect to the latter at all, given its presence in a different timeline, it will at least give audiences another, hopefully excellent X-Men story. These characters that people know and love will be handled well, providing many reminders as to why the X-Men can be so compelling.<\/p>\n

This should only continue with Avengers: Doomsday. The glimpses of the X-Men in the film, seen in a brief trailer, provide more comic book accuracy than any of the mainline X-Men movies did. This is also one of the strengths of X-Men ’97. In this sense, the two projects are similar in that they will showcase what stories about the group can be like.<\/p>\n

Then there is the possibility of Jean Grey’s first MCU appearance in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Stranger Things’ Sadie Sink has been cast in the movie, with her role undisclosed thus far. Sink has long been a fancast for Jean Grey in the MCU, leading many to wonder whether she will debut in the film. If so, this will only cause more X-Men excitement before Doomsday releases.<\/p>\n

Even if Sink isn’t playing Jean, though, X-Men ’97 season 2 should be more than enough to build up hype for Avengers: Doomsday.<\/p>\n
