Travellers flying internationally have been advised to stay across any updates from their airline for the latest travel information. <\/p>\n
A CAA spokesperson said the incident happened about 10.30am and occurred when a passenger passed through a screening point without undergoing the full screening process. <\/p>\n
\u201cThe incident was identified and managed promptly, by Aviation Security and Auckland Airport, in line with standard security protocols,\u201d the spokesperson said. <\/p>\n
\u201cThis caused some disruption to departing flights and screening was stopped while the matter was resolved. <\/p>\n
\u201cAs a result, queues had built up, prior to screening being recommenced. <\/p>\n
\u201dTo quickly process the backlog of passengers, extra screening lanes were opened.”<\/p>\n
The spokesperson said an internal investigation into the security breach is being carried out and there was no suggestion of malicious intent. <\/p>\n
\u201cThere are no ongoing impacts from this incident, and all international flight departures have now returned to normal.\u201d <\/p>\n
One passenger told the Herald they had been stuck at security for hours, with little information from authorities. <\/p>\n
