One person is seriously injured, and a busy road in Auckland’s CBD is closed following a crash this morning. <\/p>\n

Emergency services were called to Victoria Street near the intersection of Albert Street at around 5.40am. <\/p>\n

“At this stage, one person is in a serious condition,” police said. <\/p>\n

A witness at the scene told 1News she saw a vehicle crash into a pole. Photos from the scene also showed a police car was seriously damaged. <\/p>\n

Police, Fire and Emergency New Zealand, and St John were all at the scene. <\/p>\n

Victoria Street was closed between Queen and Hobson Streets, just as many commuters were set to begin their drive into the city. <\/p>\n

“Police are advising motorists to use alternate routes as road closures may be in place for some time.” <\/p>\n
