Hot on the heels of Chaz Mostert pouring cold water on his Ruapuna rumble with Brodie Kostecki,<\/a> teammate Ryan Wood has hinted at a breaking of bread with Broc Feeney.<\/p>\n Feeney has made no secret of his ill-feeling towards Wood since their clash on the opening lap of last year\u2019s Adelaide Grand Final decider.<\/p>\n A mending of the ways appeared to begin in Christchurch when Feeney expressed empathy for Wood\u2019s Jason Richards Trophy heartbreak<\/a>.<\/p>\n Feeney said last week on MotorRacing 360 that he was unhappy they\u2019d still not cleared the air and hinted at a potential catchup.<\/p>\n \u201cI wouldn\u2019t say we\u2019re mates, but yeah, he just came up to me afterwards and said, \u2018good job\u2019,\u201d Feeney said of their brief interaction in the aftermath of the Ruapuna finale.<\/p>\n \u201cHe wants to catch up and try and settle the dust.<\/p>\n \u201cWe haven\u2019t spoken since then. To be honest, I\u2019m not over the moon about that, I think a conversation probably should have been had.<\/p>\n \u201cBut obviously that\u2019s not my loss.\u201d<\/p>\n Wood was asked how he felt about those Feeney comments during a media call in Townsville on Tuesday.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m not too worried about it,\u201d he said. \u201cWhat\u2019s happened between us will stay between us now.\u201d<\/p>\n Asked if he has any plans to apologise, Wood hinted at a conversation but would not divulge details<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve sorted it out now,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s between us. You can read into it as you will.\u201d<\/p>\n As for what happens next?<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ll just go racing. We enjoy racing hard,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \u201cThat\u2019s part of the championship at the moment, there\u2019s a lot of rivalry and I think that\u2019s what makes it exciting at the moment.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m loving that part of it.\u201d<\/p>\n Wood and Feeney pictured during a GTWCA round in 2025. Image: Supplied<\/p>\n The claimed mending of ways also follows comments from Wood\u2019s mentor Greg Murphy on the eve of Christchurch that the situation should have been dealt with sooner.<\/p>\n Wood is known to have texted Feeney in the immediate aftermath of Adelaide but did not get a response.<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t disagree with Broc in his reasons why he\u2019s like this,\u201d said Murphy ahead of the Ruapuna event.<\/p>\n \u201cThat moment needed to be dealt with very quickly after Adelaide finished. There needed to be a conversation, it needed to be dealt with, and it wasn\u2019t dealt with.<\/p>\n \u201cIf I wasn\u2019t on the other side of the world and if I\u2019d have been there, I would\u2019ve made sure it was dealt with, because it\u2019s respectful.<\/p>\n \u201cIt would\u2019ve been respectful, so I\u2019ll be bluntly honest, it disappointed me that it didn\u2019t get dealt with in a better way so they could move on, regardless of if there\u2019s agreement or not.\u201d<\/p>\n Murphy also noted that the simmering rivalry between the drivers and their respective powerhouse teams has been good for the sport.<\/p>\n The Kiwi\u2019s famous beef with Marcos Ambrose in the early-to-mid-2000s was this week voted the greatest rivalry of the Supercars era.<\/a><\/p>\n \u201cAs far as rivalries go, bring it on,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s great that they\u2019ve got two teams like that who are operating really, really well at the moment, and they\u2019re fighting hard.<\/p>\n \u201cAll of them are having to work incredibly hard to achieve, and that\u2019s mega.\u201d<\/p>\n Wood and Feeney will both be in action aboard Audi R8s in GT World Challenge Australia during this weekend\u2019s SpeedSeries event at The Bend in South Australia.<\/p>\n![\"\"](\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/2025SRO_R4SANDOWN_RACE_PROJECT_8848-1.jpg\")
