[Dispatch=Reporter Lee Myung-ju] BTS will meet with the Mexican president ahead of their world tour concert.<\/p>\n

U.S. Billboard reported on the 6th (Korean time), “Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum invited BTS to the National Palace, the presidential residence.”<\/p>\n

President Sheinbaum revealed the invitation of BTS at a regular press conference that day. She plans to open the presidential residence’s balcony to allow members to greet fans.<\/p>\n

This meeting was arranged ahead of BTS’s Mexico City concert as part of their world tour ‘ARIRANG’. Members were invited on the 6th, the day before the first concert.<\/p>\n

President Sheinbaum also expressed her support for the concert in January. When the Mexico City concert was confirmed, she referred to it as a “historic moment.”<\/p>\n

And for good reason\u2014this tour will have a significant impact on the local economy. According to the Mexico City Chamber of Commerce, it is expected to generate 107.5 million dollars (approximately 155.7 billion won) in economic effect.<\/p>\n

The intense interest in BTS is also proven by data. Based on Spotify’s latest count, Mexico is the 5th largest market in the world for listening to K-pop.<\/p>\n

Among these, BTS was named the artist most streamed by local listeners. Eight out of the top 10 albums in the count are BTS works.<\/p>\n

The regular fourth album ‘Map of the Soul: 7’ is the most-played K-pop album in Mexico. The English single ‘Dynamite’ ranks first as the most-streamed song in Mexico.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, BTS will take the stage at Estadio GNP Seguros in Mexico City on the 7th and 9th-10th.<\/p>\n
