David Letterman<\/a> is set to bid farewell to Stephen Colbert<\/a>\u2014and the CBS show he launched more than three decades ago.<\/p>\n CBS has announced that Letterman will sit down with Late Show<\/a> host Colbert on Thursday, May 14. The musical guest that night, said to be booked at Letterman\u2019s request, will be The Strokes.<\/p>\n The appearance marks Letterman\u2019s second visit to The Late Show under Colbert, following a highly rated homecoming<\/a> in November 2023. (The musical guest that night\u2014also at Letterman\u2019s request\u2014was The National.)<\/p>\n Prior to his return two-and-a-half years ago, it wasn\u2019t clear Letterman would ever set foot in the Ed Sullivan Theater again.
