{"id":417437,"date":"2026-05-08T04:59:08","date_gmt":"2026-05-08T04:59:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/417437\/"},"modified":"2026-05-08T04:59:08","modified_gmt":"2026-05-08T04:59:08","slug":"tara-pavlovic-opens-up-on-marriage-split-from-nick-shepherdson","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/417437\/","title":{"rendered":"Tara Pavlovic opens up on marriage split from Nick Shepherdson"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A former star of The Bachelor Australia and Bachelor in Paradise has shed more details on her recent split from her husband of five years.<\/p>\n<p>Tara Pavlovic, a former nanny who became a fan favourite on the dating shows from 2017, has opened up about her separation just weeks after <a class=\"body-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.news.com.au\/entertainment\/celebrity-life\/absolute-mess-bachelor-star-tara-pavlovic-announces-split-from-nick-shepherdson-after-five-years-of-marriage\/news-story\/d5e723986d3802c06ed846d427083ebc\" target=\"_blank\" data-tgev=\"event119\" data-tgev-container=\"bodylink\" data-tgev-order=\"d5e723986d3802c06ed846d427083ebc\" data-tgev-label=\"entertainment\" data-tgev-metric=\"ev\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">announcing the shock news<\/a> on Instagram.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking candidly to <a class=\"body-link\" href=\"https:\/\/celebrity.nine.com.au\/latest\/tara-pavlovic-interview-former-bachelor-star-split-marriage-breakdown-nick-shepardson-exclusive\/9821518c-cc1a-4146-bc2b-94ffca676d21\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">9Honey Celebrity<\/a>, the 36-year-old said her split with husband Nick Shepherdson was her \u201clast resort\u201d after struggling in the relationship for the past year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt gets to a time where your body will tell you that it\u2019s time to make a change,\u201d Pavlovic, who shares two young children aged five and three with Shepherdson, told the site. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cHaving a mother who is not coping mentally is not in the kids\u2019 best interests. I left to put myself first, but I also left to put them first, because I wasn\u2019t coping at all with the way things were.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The TV personality said she did not reach the decision to split easily, but she had \u201cbeen struggling for almost a year\u201d and it was time to pull the plug.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI know that, probably, most women I know struggle in their marriages \u2026 obviously, I don\u2019t want to normalise everyone getting a divorce. It was a last resort, and I don\u2019t want to ever glamorise it or anything like that,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen I announced it, people were just so supportive and kind and just like, \u2018It\u2019s OK, you\u2019ll get through it.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p> The popular star first shared the break-up news on Instagram last month on Easter Monday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNick and I have separated,\u201d she <a class=\"body-link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DWyA1tHkTuB\/?img_index=1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">began in a lengthy post<\/a>. \u201cThis hasn\u2019t been a quick or easy decision. It\u2019s something we\u2019ve been trying to work through for a long time.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe last eight months have been incredibly challenging, and I know many of you have probably felt that through my content as I have been an absolute mess.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s been a lot happening behind the scenes and a lot I\u2019ve been processing privately.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>While Pavlovic said she would not be divulging details of the separation to protect her children and her future co-parenting relationship, she reassured followers that she is OK.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFor the first time in a long time I feel a sense of peace and I know this is the right path forward for me and for our family.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m finally feeling back in alignment with myself, and for the first time in a long time, I feel excited for what\u2019s ahead. Do I believe in love anymore? Absolutely not. But I hope one day I will again.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Pavlovic and Shepherdson were friends for more than a decade before they started dating in 2018, two months after she split from her Bachelor In Paradise fianceSam Cochrane.<\/p>\n<p>The pair were later married two years later at Sol Gardens in the Currumbin Valley, Queensland.<\/p>\n<p>\u201c25th of September, 2020.
