The Neighbourhood, the new ITV reality series featuring Graham Norton as host, has had a scheduling shake-up as it approaches the conclusion of its debut season. With the final episodes looming, the network has altered its air time.

The series sees multiple households compete against each other in a popularity contest, with the winner being awarded £250,000. On the journey, the various contestants participate in a variety of challenges.

After premiering last month, the reality series had the primetime slot of 9pm on ITV1, but that will change for the remaining five episodes of the debut season, which air from Friday (8 May) until Tuesday (12 May).

Friday’s instalment will air at the later time of 10.45pm, with the weekend episodes airing slightly earlier at 10pm on Saturday and 10.20pm on Sunday. It will then move back to the later slot of 10.45pm for both Monday and Tuesday.

If you can’t wait to see how the action unfolds, then you can stream the episodes on ITVX, with the whole season – which consists of 11 instalments in total – being added to the service recently.

ITV hasn’t outlined the reasons for the scheduling changes, though a spokesperson told Digital Spy: “The full box set of The Neighbourhood is now available to stream on ITVX. Additionally, the show will continue to air in an evening slot on ITV.”

The series has reportedly struggled in the ratings since its premiere, with Metro writing that the viewing figures had dipped below 500,000 as soon as the third episode. ITV is yet to comment on the figures, or the future of the series.

The Neighbourhood has also divided viewers, with several criticising the premise and slow pace of the episodes. In a post on X, one viewer wrote: “A lot of us tried to give it a second chance and benefit of the doubt but it was hopeless.”

“Seems like ITV is trying desperately to make a show that will have the success The Traitors has,” wrote a second viewer, though a third was slightly more upbeat as they praised the “festering resentment and likely drama” between the households.
