\n\t\u201cThe Mummy\u201d star Brendan Fraser<\/a> was in his thirties when he first became an action star with his trio of adventure movies. Now, nearly 20 years after his last outing as archaeologist Rick O\u2019Connell, the 57-year-old actor is getting back into shape for the long-awaited \u201cMummy 4.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tFraser joined Jimmy Fallon on \u201cThe Tonight Show\u201d to tease \u201cThe Mummy 4,\u201d which is set to release in theaters on Oct. 15, 2027. He\u2019ll reunite with Rachel Weisz, who starred as Rick\u2019s wife Evelyn in the first two \u201cMummy\u201d movies before being replaced by Maria Bellow in the role in \u201cThe Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.\u201d John Hannah, who played Evelyn\u2019s older brother Jonathan, is also back for the sequel.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe\u2019re gonna get the band back together,\u201d Fraser told Fallon. \u201cThe only way to do it. So, we are going to give the audience what they have been bothering all of us for, for the last twenty-whatever years.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor\u201d was released in 2008, but was the lowest grossing film of the trilogy and received negative reviews compared to 1999\u2019s original \u201cThe Mummy\u201d and the 2001 sequel \u201cThe Mummy Returns.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI was hopeful for a long while, and then I was like, \u2018I don\u2019t know if they are.\u2019 Then other\u00a0\u2018Mummy\u2019\u00a0movies got made,\u201d Fraser said about his return to the franchise. \u201cBut listen, what we\u2019re gonna do is saddle back up, go back to the locations \u2014 I should probably stop talking like this, because I don\u2019t want to give everything away.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cThe Mummy 4\u201d will be Fraser\u2019s first action movie in years. He won the Oscar for best actor for his 2022 drama \u201cThe Whale,\u201d had a supporting role in Martin Scorsese\u2019s \u201cKillers of the Flower Moon\u201d and recently starred in last year\u2019s awards contender \u201cThe Rental Family.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cPlease wish me luck,\u201d he said about his \u201cMummy 4\u201d training. \u201cI\u2019m doing my best to get this 57-year-old gear in shape.\u201d <\/p>\n
