One of the more prominent Mandalorian and Grogu theories<\/a> is that Din will die in the upcoming film. Saying in the trailers, “The kid will live centuries beyond me” and “I won’t always be around to protect him” have added to the speculation around Din’s fate, as has the tagline of a new television spot being: “His greatest mission could be his last.” <\/p>\n

During a Q&A in London (via GamesRadar+<\/a>), Pascal spoke about how grateful he is to have been playing Din for so long now, explaining that “I’m completely grateful. It’s the longest creative relationship I’ve had, it’s the character that I’ve played the longest.” He also hinted that The Mandalorian and Grogu may not be the end of him in the role, since “Hopefully I get to continue playing him for as long as my body, or as many bodies as we put into the suit, can take it.”<\/p>\n

While this does not confirm Din surviving The Mandalorian and Grogu, Pascal talking about wanting to continue playing him bodes well for the character surviving the movie. As indicated in these comments, that doesn’t just involve Pascal, as he is the voice and the face of Din, but Lateef Crowder and Brendan Wayne do most of the physical work inside the Mandalorian suit of armor. <\/p>\n

Considering the popularity of Din, especially as a beloved duo with Grogu, theories about him dying didn’t have a lot of credence until the new film’s marketing made it an inevitable line of thinking with increasing reminders of the character’s mortality. This raises the stakes for what will be Din and Grogu’s first story on the big screen, but Pascal’s remarks hint that this won’t be the end of their journey together. <\/p>\n

With Pascal wanting to continue playing Din, and the character’s survival now seemingly in less doubt, the question becomes what his future looks like after the next Star Wars movie<\/a> is released.
