I said it, and then I was scared.\u201d<\/p>\nAppleton, 42, defended the eye-watering figure by explaining that, \u201cthere\u2019s plenty of times I do work for free. There\u2019s plenty of times I don\u2019t get paid that amount of money.\u201d<\/p>\n
Appleton, who tends to Kim Kardashian\u2019s tresses, broke down the sum.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was a lot of travelling, and it was a whole commitment,\u201d he said. \u201cSo when you break it down, it\u2019s not as much. <\/p>\n
\u201cAlso, 50 per cent tax in America \u2013 that\u2019s half. And then your agent takes 20 per cent, and your business manager takes five.\u201d<\/p>\n
He offered a similar explanation back in January on the \u201cU Up?\u201d podcast, pointing out that his net earnings shrink considerably after taxes and other deductions.<\/p>\n
Appleton, who has styled Kardashian\u2019s hair for the Met Gala, recently came under fire from the Skims founder for her 2022 look, when she donned a dress Marilyn Monroe wore and had her hair dyed blond and slicked back.<\/p>\n
In a vlog for this year\u2019s final fitting, Kardashian, 45, reflected on that day<\/p>\n
\u201cWe had too much going on. You were doing every family member,\u201d she admonished Appleton and makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic. \u201cWe weren\u2019t focused.\u201d<\/p>\n
Pulling up a photo, Kardashian deadpanned, \u201cEveryone f\u2014ked up here. Let\u2019s just say that.\u201d<\/p>\n
As Appleton and Dedivanovic poked fun at each other\u2019s questionable choices \u2014 from eyeliner to hairstyle \u2014 Kardashian weighed in: \u201cIt was all about the hair. I\u2019ll fight you on that until the day I die.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI think about it once a week,\u201d the reality star confessed.<\/p>\n
At the time, Appleton shared that he loved the lighter locks.<\/p>\n
\u201cI love a blonde Kim. I think it\u2019s so interesting how a colour can change the colours of the clothes you wear and it really changes your makeup. <\/p>\n
\u201cYou can really reinvent things,\u201d he told E! News.<\/p>\n
