Stewart criticised Trump earlier this year, branding him as a \u201cdraft dodger\u201d for the false claims he made about British troops serving in Afghanistan not assisting American military personnel.<\/p>\n
In a video message on Instagram in January, Stewart said: \u201cI may just be a humble rock star, but I\u2019m also a knight of the realm, and I have my opinions. I was born just after the war, and I have great respect for our armed forces that fought and gave us our freedom.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo it hurts me badly, deeply, when I read that draft dodger Trump has criticised our troops in Afghanistan for not being on the front line.\u201d<\/p>\n
Stewart stressed the scale of British losses during the Afghanistan conflict, in which 457 UK service personnel were killed.<\/p>\n
The Sailing singer said: \u201cWe lost over 400 of our guys. Think of their parents. Think about it. And Trump calls them almost like cowards. It\u2019s unbearable.\u201d<\/p>\n
