Simpson revealed that he is now enduring \u201ctwo weeks of silence\u201d in the hopes of avoiding surgery which would require a lengthy and painful recovery process. <\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m back in the studio now writing strictly as a lyricist on mute with my collaborators, and hearing\/writing my vocal melodies on my guitar (which I will eventually replace with my voice when I\u2019m able to),\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhere there\u2019s a will, there\u2019s a way. I\u2019d like to bring you on the journey. I\u2019ve been extremely up and down but am now reframing this as a realignment for the long-term good.<\/p>\n
The singer added: \u201cIn the meantime, should I start sharing some of what I\u2019ve already finished?\u201d<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, it\u2019s been a tough few months for the singer, who recently split with his girlfriend of four years. <\/p>\n
Simpson and Emma McKeon first went Instagram official in July, 2022, having kept their romance secret for two months.<\/p>\n
The Daily Telegraph first reported the pair quietly separated at the end of 2025.<\/p>\n
According to an insider close to the former couple, Simpson, 29, and McKeon, 31, \u201care still really good friends\u201d and separated amicably.<\/p>\n
McKeon retired in November, 2024, as Australia\u2019s most decorated Olympian, winning 14 medals \u2014 six gold, three silver and five bronze.<\/p>\n
Simpson, famously returned to elite swimming after more than 10 years of pursuing his music career in Hollywood.<\/p>\n
Four years after returning to the pool, Simpson won a Commonwealth Games gold medal as a heat swimmer in Australia\u2019s 4x100m freestyle relay.<\/p>\n
However, he fell short of his lifelong dream of representing Australia at the Paris Olympics in 2024.<\/p>\n
