Emett said he had stopped in to see Paltrow and her Glee co-creator husband Brad Falchuk while on his way to play golf at the nearby Pebble Beach course.<\/p>\n

Their celebrity foodie friendship was first cemented by hasselback potatoes in 2023<\/a>, with Paltrow sharing a photo of her attempt at the chef\u2019s spud recipe.<\/p>\n

\u201cLast night\u2019s hasselback potatoes from this cute chef I found here on Instagram,\u201d she wrote, tagging Emett.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019d give those a solid 10\/10 @gwynethpaltrow,\u201d he replied.<\/p>\n

Emett told Coast Breakfast host Toni Street he and wife Helen \u201chad always been fans\u201d of Paltrow before their social media exchange.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve got a couple of her cookbooks at home … we sent her one of our cookbooks and she messaged back that she\u2019d already ordered it online.\u201d<\/p>\n

The pair have gone on to collaborate several times in the years since, with Emett\u2019s cooking frequently being featured by the Oscar winner\u2019s lifestyle brand Goop.<\/p>\n

In 2024, Paltrow confessed in a newsletter<\/a> she had a \u201cchef crush\u201d on the Kiwi cook \u201cfor a little over a year\u201d before she was finally able to host him for dinner.<\/p>\n

She said they recreated Emett\u2019s hasselback potatoes as a nostalgic nod to what had made her \u201cfirst fall\u201d for his culinary prowess.<\/p>\n

Goop has become a powerhouse brand since Paltrow founded it in 2008, expanding from a simple newsletter into a global lifestyle business.<\/p>\n
