Google\u2019s \u201cGemini Intelligence\u201d updates for Android might arrive on Samsung\u2019s new Galaxy Z Fold 8 and other foldables first, a new report claims.<\/p>\n

Seoul Economic Daily<\/a> reports that Gemini Intelligence will \u201cbe commercialized for the first time in the Galaxy series through the Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8\u201d as a part of One UI 9. In other words, Google is likely to release these features, at least in the first wave, around July-August.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s not a huge surprise. Google confirmed <\/a>Pixel and Samsung Galaxy devices would get Gemini Intelligence starting \u201cthis summer,\u201d and the timeline here puts the debut potentially just a few weeks ahead of Google\u2019s Pixel 11 series launching. In theory, though, Samsung\u2019s new foldables could be first in line unless Pixel 10 gets access at the same time (which seems pretty likely).<\/p>\n

What is Gemini Intelligence?<\/p>\n

Google announced this new push alongside Android 17 as what will transition the OS into an \u201cintelligence system.\u201d An initial wave of features will include a new design language when Gemini is working on tasks, improved autofill that leverages your data in other Google apps, Gboard voice-to-text \u201cRambler\u201d which can make corrections as you speak, and \u201cCreate my Widget\u201d for making homescreen widgets using text prompts.<\/p>\n

One UI 9 is also expected to launch on Samsung\u2019s new foldables, with the Android 17-based update now available in beta<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Samsung\u2019s Unpacked event for these new foldables is reportedly happening on July 22<\/a>.<\/p>\n
