Google today released Android Canary 2605, with this preview build adding much more blur to the system UI on Pixel devices.<\/p>\n

ZP11.260417.009 with the May 2026 security patch is available for the Pixel 10a, Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, Pixel 10 Pro Fold, Pixel 9a,\u00a0Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, Pixel 9 Pro Fold, Pixel 8a,\u00a0Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel 7a, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7, Pixel 6a, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6, Pixel Fold, and Pixel Tablet. As always, \u201cCanary builds are highly experimental and are NOT recommended for general use.\u201d<\/p>\n

System blur<\/p>\n

Last year, Android 16 QPR1 introduced blur to Notifications and Quick Settings. As of Android 17 Beta 4, the widget picker is the only element with more system blur.<\/p>\n

Android Canary 2605 now adds it to the pill-shaped container of the volume slider. This translucency allows you to see more of your homescreen or the application underneath it.<\/p>\n
