La Voix will be joining the Eurovision<\/a> line-up this weekend as the United Kingdom\u2019s spokesperson.<\/p>\n

Following her sparkling stint in the Strictly ballroom, the BBC has confirmed that La Voix will be the United Kingdom’s very first Eurovision ‘spokesqueen’, delivering the results of the UK jury live from Salford during the Grand Final<\/a>, airing on BBC One and BBC iPlayer from 8pm tomorrow (Saturday 16 May).<\/p>\n

La Voix is set to follow in the footsteps of previous iconic spokespeople such as Dame Joanna Lumley, Catherine Tate, Nigella Lawson and Sophie Ellis-Bextor, amongst many others.<\/p>\n

Last year, Doctor Who actor Ncuti Gatwa<\/a> was announced as the UK’s official spokesperson at the Grand Final, only to later withdraw, citing a busy work schedule<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On the announcement of her role in Eurovision 2026, La Voix said: “I\u2019m absolutely over the moon to be announcing the UK jury scores at Eurovision 2026.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s the one night where sequins are en masse, key changes are compulsory, and absolutely anything can happen \u2013 so naturally I feel right at home. I\u2019ll do my best to behave… but no promises!”<\/p>\n

A huge fan-favourite and finalist on RuPaul\u2019s Drag Race UK season 6, La Voix\u2019s career includes appearances on Britain\u2019s Got Talent, a role in Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie alongside Lumley and Jennifer Saunders, and a fourth\u2011place finish on Graham Norton\u2019s Queen of the Universe.<\/p>\n

Most recently, La Voix was seen on our screens on Strictly Come Dancing, entertaining viewers with her quick wit and undeniable stage presence.<\/p>\n

La Voix joins this year’s Eurovision coverage line-up<\/a>, which features Graham Norton as the UK’s Eurovision commentator \u2013 a role he has held since 2009 \u2013 Rylan Clark and Sara Cox.<\/p>\n

The Eurovision Song Contest has faced significant criticism over its decision to allow Israel to take part in the event due to the ongoing war in Gaza.<\/p>\n

This year, a number of countries will boycott the contest following the European Broadcasting Union\u2019s decision not to expel Israel from the competition.<\/p>\n

At the EBU general assembly in December 2025, a vote was held to introduce new rules that would stop governments and third parties from disproportionately promoting songs to influence voters. No vote was held on Israel\u2019s participation.<\/p>\n

The EBU said in a statement<\/a>: \u201cA large majority of members agreed that there was no need for a further vote on participation and that the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 should proceed as planned, with the additional safeguards in place.\u201d<\/p>\n

Following this, Ireland, Spain, the Netherlands, Slovenia and Iceland confirmed they would not participate in this year\u2019s Eurovision.<\/p>\n

Irish broadcaster RT\u00c9 said<\/a>: \u201cRT\u00c9 feels that Ireland\u2019s participation remains unconscionable given the appalling loss of lives in Gaza and the humanitarian crisis there, which continues to put the lives of so many civilians at risk.\u201d<\/p>\n

The BBC, which broadcasts the competition in the UK, has said it supports the decision made by the EBU. \u201cThis is about enforcing the rules of the EBU and being inclusive,\u201d it said in a statement.<\/p>\n

The Eurovision Song Contest 2026 final will take place on Saturday 16 May 2026.<\/p>\n
