\n\tJavier Bardem and Mark Ruffalo have boarded All That\u2019s Left of You<\/a>, Jordan\u2019s selection for the best\u00a0international<\/a>\u00a0feature Oscars<\/a> category, as executive producers.<\/p>\n

\n\tPalestinian-American director Cherien Dabis\u2019\u00a0historical drama premiered at Sundance<\/a> and tells a multigenerational story of a family expelled from Jaffa in 1948. When a Palestinian teenager gets swept up into a protest in the occupied West Bank and experiences a moment of violence that rocks his family, his mother recounts the political and emotional threads that led to that fateful moment.<\/p>\n

\n\tSpanning seven decades, the epic drama captures the hopes and heartaches of an uprooted family, revealing the scars of displacement and the unbreakable spirit of survival, according to a synopsis from the producers. \u201cCherien\u2019s beautiful, intelligent and deeply moving film All That\u2019s Left of You powerfully captures the true story of Palestine that has never been told before in a way that is both artistic and authentic,\u201d Spanish actor Bardem said in a statement.<\/p>\n

\n\tWatermelon Pictures and Dabis\u2019 new production and distribution company\u00a0Visibility Films will co-release All That\u2019s Left of You, which was co-financed by Medan. A theatrical run in Los Angeles starting Nov. 28, 2025 is planned to position the movie for awards season play. That will be followed by a release in select cities on Jan. 9, 2026, before opening nationwide.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cAll That\u2019s Left Of You is an epic, deeply human film that spans decades, capturing the Palestinian Nakba with authenticity, compassion and grace. It reminds us that even in the face of unimaginable loss, our way forward lies in empathy, in finding meaning in grief and in choosing humanity over vengeance,\u201d Ruffalo added in his own statement.<\/p>\n

\n\tDabis\u2019 third feature also screened at Telluride after the conflict in Gaza<\/a> forced principal production to shift from Palestine to Cyprus, Jordan and Greece. Dabis\u2019 two previous features,\u00a0Amreeka\u00a0(2009) and\u00a0May in the Summer\u00a0(2013), both debuted at Sundance.\u00a0Amreeka\u00a0went on to win the Fipresci international critics prize at Cannes.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cI\u2019m beyond thrilled to have two people I deeply admire, Javier Bardem and Mark Ruffalo, join us in amplifying the urgency and importance of this film,\u201d Dabis said in her own statement. \u201cAll That\u2019s Left of You takes audiences back to 1948 \u2014 the origin of Palestinian displacement \u2014 and follows one family across nearly eight decades, shaped by political forces beyond their control. It is the untold story of how Palestinians first became refugees, and how that history led us to the present moment. To understand what\u2019s happening in Gaza today, we must first understand the history of how we arrived here,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

\n\tBesides writing and directing the film,\u00a0Dabis\u00a0stars alongside real-life father and sons\u00a0Mohammad Bakri,\u00a0Saleh Bakri\u00a0and\u00a0Adam Bakri. The producer credits are shared by\u00a0Dabis, Thanassis Karathanos, Martin Hampel\u00a0and\u00a0Karim Amer. Bardem\u00a0and\u00a0Ruffalo\u00a0executive produce alongside Geralyn Dreyfous.<\/p>\n
