{"id":433445,"date":"2026-05-18T13:59:20","date_gmt":"2026-05-18T13:59:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/433445\/"},"modified":"2026-05-18T13:59:20","modified_gmt":"2026-05-18T13:59:20","slug":"round-howe-wood-gets-picnic-tables-and-animal-sculptures","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/433445\/","title":{"rendered":"Round Howe Wood gets picnic tables and animal sculptures"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Picnic tables and wooden animal sculptures have been installed in a woodland in North Yorkshire. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">The project at Round Howe Wood, by the River Swale, was led by Richmond Rotary Club to improve the area for visitors. <\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">It included two oak picnic tables, wooden toadstools and sculptures of otters, badgers, an owl and a mole by chainsaw artist Sam Bowsher.<\/p>\n<p class=\"ssrcss-1q0x1qg-Paragraph e1jhz7w10\">Funding was provided through a \u00a310,000 National Highways Community Legacy Fund grant, while work on the A66 Northern Trans-Pennine project takes place in the surrounding areas.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Picnic tables and wooden animal sculptures have been installed in a woodland in North Yorkshire.
