9\ufeff0 Day Fianc\u00e9<\/a> alum Jenny Slatten has been diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), known in Australia as Motor Neurone Disease.<\/p>\n

Slatten, 68, and her husband, Sumit Singh, 38, revealed her health diagnosis in a post to their combined Instagram account.<\/p>\n

“\ufeffWith a heavy heart, we wanted to share news with all of you guys,” the post began.<\/p>\n

\"Jenny9\ufeff0 Day Fianc\u00e9 alum Jenny Slatten has been diagnosed with a terminal disease, she revealed in an emotional Instagram post. (Instagram)<\/p>\n

“There was a rumour that I had a stroke, but it turned out to be ALS.”<\/p>\n

“\ufeffAt first, we tried to keep it private because it’s been very emotional and overwhelming for us.<\/p>\n

“We were hoping to find some kind of solution before speaking publicly. But after trying for some time, we feel like it’s time to reach out.”<\/p>\n

The post went on to say the pair are open to “any kind of help,” including treatments, clinical trials or lifestyle changes\ufeff, adding they are willing to try “anything” that “could help treat this disease or slow down its progression.”<\/p>\n

\"JennyThe post goes on to say the pair are open to “any kind of help” that could slow down the diseases progression. (Instagram)<\/p>\n

The reality star told People Magazine<\/a> that she was diagnosed with the illness in December 2025, one year after she started experiencing symptoms.<\/p>\n

ALS, or Lou Gehrig’s disease, is a “degenerative disorder of specific nerve cells of the spinal cord, brain stem and brain” which “results in the gradual loss of voluntary muscle control leading to paralysis,” according to Brain Foundation Australia.<\/a><\/p>\n

It is the same disease that led to the death of Grey’s Anatomy star Eric Dane<\/a> just 10 months after his diagnosis. \ufeff<\/a><\/p>\n

The disease is known to progress rapidly, with no known cure or treatment. \ufeffLuckily, Slatten’s doctors said her illness is progressing slowly.<\/p>\n

Slatten’s daughter, Christina Marie Cuevas, \ufeffcommented underneath her mum’s post, offering words of love and support.<\/p>\n

“I love you mum I’m so proud of you,” she wrote.<\/p>\n

“It’s been really hard to keep in and not say anything.”<\/p>\n

“I’ve never been so sad but I will never let the sadness take over because we have to have hope. I’ll be with you every step of the way.<\/p>\n
