At $49,990, it&#8217;s $300 cheaper than the outgoing car.<\/p>\n<p>The 3rd-gen CX-5 Homura is $57,990, or $3200 less than the outgoing Limited.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, the new flagship Takami is priced closer to that previous Limited at $61,990. That&#8217;s $5900 les than the previous Takami, the largest price-reduction of the new lineup.<\/p>\n<p>New CX-5 model-by-model<\/p>\n<p>The new CX-5 Touring features 17-inch alloy wheels, automatic LED headlights with high beam control and privacy glass on the rear windows.\u00a0There\u2019s an eight-speaker stereo, 12.9-inch Mazda Connect touchscreen with wireless phone projection and charging, dual-zone climate control and heated (cloth) front seats.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/mazda-cx-5_2-1.jpg\" alt=\"Mazda CX-5.\" width=\"1186\" height=\"790\" data-caption=\"The\" loading=\"lazy\"\/><br \/>\nThe SP replaces the GSX &#8211; traditionally Mazda NZ&#8217;s biggest seller.<\/p>\n<p>The SP upgrades to 19-inch alloys, black roof rails and a powered tailgate.\u00a0The interior features power driver&#8217;s seat, &#8220;leatherette&#8221; trim in black or a black\/white combination, head-up display, heated steering wheel and a windscreen de-icer.<\/p>\n<p>The Homura has black gloss exterior accents, metallic black 19-inch wheels, and matching bumper trims and wheelarch mouldings. The 360 View Monitor features See-Through View, which now works even when the mirrors are folded and provides a semi-transparent road surface view beneath the vehicle.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/cxfive-007.jpg\" alt=\"Mazda CX-5.\" width=\"1181\" height=\"789\" data-caption=\"Takami gets bigger infotainment screen, Tan Sport upholstery.\" loading=\"lazy\"\/><br \/>\nTakami gets bigger infotainment screen, Tan Sport upholstery.<\/p>\n<p>The Takami adds hands-free electric tailgate, larger 15.6-inch touch display, and gearshift paddles. Takami also features Sport Tan leather seats with ventilation for the front. It has the Mazda Driver Personalisation System (first introduced in the CX-90) to automatically adjust mirrors and seating for enhanced driver comfort and control.<\/p>\n<p>All versions are powered by Mazda&#8217;s familiar SkyActiv-G 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine (132kW\/242Nm), with a 6-speed automatic transmission and i-Activ all-wheel drive (AWD).<\/p>\n<p>A full hybrid model (SkyActiv-Z) is in the product plan for CX-5, but it&#8217;s still some time away: a global launch is expected late-2027, making it a likely 2028 option for NZ.<\/p>\n<p>In the Kiwi-specification 3rd-gen CX-5, the 2.5-litre petrol returns 7.9l\/100 km in the the WLTP test cycle, improved figures when compared to the second-generation model.<\/p>\n<p>New Mazda CX-5 pricing<\/p>\n<p>Touring: $46,490<br \/>\nSP: $49,990<br \/>\nHomura: $57,990<br \/>\nTakami: $61,990<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"New CX-5 will reach NZ in August.
