French-Russian actress Anastasia Andrushkevich turned heads at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival after stepping onto the red carpet in a look that paid clear tribute to Diana, Princess of Wales. Attending the premiere of \u201cFjord\u201d earlier this week, the actress wore an ice blue gown that closely mirrored one of Princess Diana\u2019s most memorable Cannes appearances from 1987.<\/p>\n

Custom-designed by Mehmet Ozden, the strapless dress featured a sculpted bodice, flowing skirt and dramatic matching scarf draped behind her, recreating the elegance of Diana\u2019s original look.<\/a><\/p>\n

The resemblance extended beyond the gown itself. Andrushkevich styled her blond bob in a soft, feathered cut reminiscent of the princess\u2019s signature 1980s hairstyle, completing the nostalgic fashion moment.<\/p>\n

The original gown worn by Diana nearly four decades ago was designed by Catherine Walker, one of the royal\u2019s most trusted couturiers. The designer\u2019s work remains closely associated with the British royal family today, particularly through Catherine, Princess of Wales, who continues to wear Catherine Walker creations for major public appearances.<\/p>\n

Diana debuted the now-famous blue chiffon gown during the 1987 Cannes Film Festival while attending a gala screening. As Page Six reported, the dress later became one of the most recognizable royal fashion pieces of the era and was sold at auction in 2011 for $137,500.<\/p>\n

Catherine Walker reportedly drew from the icy blue Edith Head gown worn by Grace Kelly in Alfred Hitchcock\u2019s 1955 classic \u201cTo Catch a Thief.\u201d The connection feels especially fitting given that the film itself was shot along the French Riviera, the same glamorous backdrop as Cannes.<\/p>\n
