Phil Collins<\/a> has given his own reaction to that viral reaction video of hearing \u201cIn the Air Tonight\u201d for the first time.<\/p>\n

During a recent interview<\/a> with BBC Breakfast, Collins expressed gratitude for YouTube creators TwinsthenewTrend<\/a>\u2019s 2021 video<\/a>, which has racked up more than 10 million views to date. He also explained why \u201cIn the Air Tonight\u201d is so distinctive after all these years.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m just flattered that people are still discovering it,\u201d he said. \u201cTo see that there\u2019s some things, it\u2019s got a little bit of legs. \u2018In the Air,\u201d the sound has been replicated on different records and many times, but when you hear it for the first time, in the way it was invented, then it\u2019s got something special about it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Collins continued, \u201cI had that discovered, it was really flattering, and I\u2019m really pleased.\u201d<\/p>\n

In case you haven\u2019t seen it, the beginning of TwinsthenewTrend\u2019s video sees the two nodding their heads to the opening drums and guitar, describing it as sounding like a pro wrestling ring entrance. Once the synth begins, one of them correctly predicts that Collins was \u201cfinna go crazy,\u201d while the other says the Face Value cover looks like \u201che\u2019s staring at my soul.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is like a WWE entrance. I could see somebody walking down to the ring to this, bro,\u201d a twin says, as Collins begins singing. After the infamous drum solo kicks in, his brother adds, \u201cI ain\u2019t never seen nobody drama be three minutes in a song.\u201d<\/p>\n

The video concludes with the appreciative twins saying, \u201cShout out to the person who kept on requesting this song.\u201d<\/p>\n

Words can hardly suffice when describing their enthusiasm for the song, so you\u2019ll have to watch TwinsthenewTrend\u2019s full reaction video to \u201cIn the Air Tonight\u201d below.<\/p>\n
