Thalapathy Vijay\u2019s much-awaited film Jana Nayagan<\/a> continues to face delays as it remains stuck in the certification proces. The film was reportedly sent to the revising committee shortly before its originally scheduled Pongal release in January 2026, leading to an indefinite postponement. Nearly five months later, the project is still awaiting censor clearance.<\/p>\n

Producer Venkat K Narayana shares update<\/p>\n

During this period, several major developments surrounding the film made headlines. Apart from the prolonged delay, a part of the movie was allegedly leaked online. Recently, producer Venkat K Narayana of KVN Productions addressed the media while visiting a temple. Although he initially avoided speaking in detail about the project, he later confirmed that the film is still waiting for certification.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is not the place to talk about Jana Nayagan. I came for temple darshan. But as I told, we\u2019re waiting for certificate to come. I am sure that they\u2019re going to give it anytime soon. We\u2019ll release at the earliest. This is not the place to talk about anything else, thank you. I came here to take God\u2019s blessings,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The producer also assured that a new release date would be announced once the censor certificate is officially received. Venkat stated, \u201cRelease date will be (announced) as soon as we get censor certificate. We\u2019ll announce it well in advance once the censor certificate is in our hands. And we\u2019ll release it in a grand way throughout the world.”<\/p>\n

Apart from Thalapathy Vijay<\/a>, the film also stars Pooja Hegde<\/a>, Bobby Deol, Mamitha Baiju, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, Narain, Priyamani, Sunil, and several others in key roles. The movie has musical tracks and scores composed by Anirudh Ravichander. Originally slated for a theatrical release on January 9, 2026, during Pongal, Jana Nayagan is considered especially emotional for Vijay\u2019s fans, as it is expected to mark his final appearance as a full-time actor.<\/p>\n
