Image: InSyde Media<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/speedcafe.com\/supercars-news-2026-tasmania-super440-symmons-plains-team-18-tim-edwards-comments\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">The Camaro has been granted two aero changes ahead of the two most recent events in a bid to shift the aero balance towards the rear of the car<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>That was effectively to restore the balance from last year after changes made in the wind tunnel during the off-season appeared to create set-up complications for the GM teams.<\/p>\n<p>Reynolds enjoyed his best day of the season so far at Symmons Plains today <a href=\"https:\/\/speedcafe.com\/supercars-news-2026-tasmania-super440-race-1-results-chaz-mostert-win-podium-video-highlights-reaction-comments\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">with a second place in Race 1<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>He had pace in the second race too, running sixth in the first stint before an unforced error saw him hit Brodie Kostecki and draw a 15-second penalty.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to Fox Sports after the second race, Reynolds admitted that changes had improved the competitiveness of the Camaro.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe definitely needed it,\u201d said Reynolds.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think we lost a bit of speed from the end of last year to this year. The car was really hard to drive, really out of control under brakes and really poor drive.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe changes the category has given us, that\u2019s what\u2019s kind of fixed what we were struggling with.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNow you feel like you can race, you can be part of the championship and go from there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As for the clash with Kostecki, Reynolds was quick to accept blame for rear-ending the back of the Shell Ford on the way into the hairpin after clearly braking too late.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt didn\u2019t go to plan, I can tell you that,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI just got it a bit wrong and drilled the back of Brodie. He was having a battle, trying to get past [Ryan Wood] and he had a bit of speed.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI braked early, but obviously not early enough and then I drilled him and just ruined his day, so I feel pretty bad for him.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAfter the race I went up and said, \u2018sorry man, that was just a complete balls up\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ll cop that on the chin and have a better day tomorrow.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/t.cfjump.com\/92797\/b\/250635\" rel=\"nofollow sponsored noopener\" data-bid=\"1\" data-no-instant=\"1\" target=\"_blank\"><br \/><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"border: none; vertical-align: middle;\" src=\"https:\/\/t.cfjump.com\/92797\/a\/250635\" alt=\"\"\/><br \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"David Reynolds was among the front-runners at Symmons Plains on Saturday.
