A person is in custody after a fleeing-vehicle incident in Tauranga this morning.<\/p>\n

Police spotted a vehicle travelling at speed on the Tauranga Eastern Link Toll Road in Mount Maunganui at about 10.50am.<\/p>\n

Although police did not pursue the vehicle, officers continued to observe it.<\/p>\n

The vehicle was then spiked on Parton Rd just after 11.10am.<\/p>\n

However, it continued travelling back north towards Tauranga, before the occupant eventually abandoned the vehicle on Keith Allen Drive.<\/p>\n

Police confronted the man on the pier, but police say he was aggressive towards the officers and ended up jumping into the harbour.<\/p>\n
