\n The college hosted a screening of the Scottish film ‘The Low Road’ at its Kilmarnock campus on Thursday, May 14, as part of its Mental Health Awareness Week programme.\n<\/p>\n
\n The event, open only to partner organisations, brought together more than 60 education, health and community organisations to explore issues including trauma, grief, suicide prevention and recovery.\n<\/p>\n

\n Wendy McColl, head of student experience at Ayrshire College, said: “These are challenging but essential conversations.\n<\/p>\n
\n “By hosting this screening during Mental Health Awareness Week, we wanted to take meaningful action to support wellbeing, encourage open discussion and strengthen partnership working around mental health and suicide prevention.\n<\/p>\n

\n Set against the backdrop of the West Highland Way, The Low Road follows a young woman coping with the loss of a friend to suicide while confronting her own trauma.\n<\/p>\n
\n The screening was followed by a discussion exploring how the college is embedding trauma-informed and inclusive approaches across its learning environment.\n<\/p>\n
