Pattie Boyd has said no one involved with the upcoming Beatles<\/a> biopics has approached her, despite casting an actor to play her.<\/p>\n

Sam Mendes\u2019 upcoming four-film series about the Fab Four are slated for a simultaneous release in April 2028. Set to star Paul Mescal as Paul McCartney, Harris Dickinson as John Lennon<\/a>, Joseph Quinn as\u00a0George Harrison, <\/a>and\u00a0Barry Keoghan<\/a>\u00a0as\u00a0Ringo Starr<\/a>, each film will tell the story of the band from a different member\u2019s point of view.<\/p>\n

Other actors set to star in the films include\u00a0Saoirse Ronan, Anna Sawai, Mia McKenna-Bruce, and Aimee Lou Wood<\/a>, who are playing Linda McCartney,\u00a0Yoko Ono<\/a>, Maureen Starkey, and Boyd, respectively, with Mendes calling all four women \u201cfascinating and unique figures in their own right\u201d.<\/p>\n

Boyd first met Harrison on the set of 1964\u2019s A Hard Day\u2019s Night, eventually marrying the guitarist in 1966 and divorcing him in 1977. Earlier this week, she appeared on the inaugural episode of Miss O\u2019Dell: Abbey Road To Tulsa Time, a new podcast hosted by music industry heavyweight Chris O\u2019Dell.<\/p>\n

When she asked Boyd about the ambitious Beatles project, she said nobody had reached out. \u201cNow,\u201d she began, \u201cI might be completely wrong, but I would have thought it would be polite to mention it to me or let me know that they got someone who\u2019s going to be playing me.<\/p>\n

\u201cDon\u2019t you think they\u2019d let me know? Well, I haven\u2019t been contacted by anyone. I could have really told them great stories. But I don\u2019t think they want to know. I think they want to create something that\u2019s completely different, like a different story.\u201d<\/p>\n

Boyd added that the forthcoming biopics seem to have \u201cnothing to do with the truth [and] nothing to do with what really happened because they don\u2019t want to talk to anyone who was there.\u201d Instead, she said it was closer to \u201cthe filmmaker\u2019s creation of what they think happened\u201d.<\/p>\n

She went on to say she wasn\u2019t going to dwell on it, joking: \u201cI\u2019m going to be a very good girl and not get grumpy and growly. She did, however, throw a barb at Mendes (1917<\/a>,\u00a0Skyfall<\/a>,\u00a0American Beauty), quipping: \u201cSomebody said he was famous. Apparently he\u2019s famous, this man.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking to\u00a0NME\u00a0last November<\/a>, Giles Martin \u2013 son of legendary Beatles producer George Martin \u2013 \u00a0discussed his work on Mendes\u2019 hotly anticipated films.\u00a0\u201cI\u2019m working with the actors and they\u2019re doing a really good job, that\u2019s all I can say,\u201d he told us.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe scripts are really good and brave, as opposed to being anodyne. I\u2019m on day two of shooting right now. They\u2019re all really good actors so I wouldn\u2019t advise them, but I give them nuances and share things I\u2019ve heard.\u201d<\/p>\n

Back in January, fans got the first look at the four leads in character in a series of postcards that were left dotted around the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts<\/a>, and many noted Mescal\u2019s resemblance to McCartney when dressed up in the\u00a0moptop\u00a0hair and period clothing.<\/p>\n

McCartney later playfully touched on Mescal\u2019s aptness for the role<\/a>. During his appearance on the last ever episode of The\u00a0Late Show\u00a0last week \u2013\u00a0in which he sang a duet of \u2018Hello, Goodbye\u2019 with host Stephen Colbert before switching off the lights for good at the Ed Sullivan Theatre<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 he was asked who was cuter out of the two of them.<\/p>\n

McCartney simply grinned and pointed at himself. \u201cMe,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

After the crowd applauded, McCartney made clear that he was being tongue-in-cheek, adding: \u201cNo,\u00a0he\u2019s\u00a0very cute, he\u2019s very cute.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking about the films in January,\u00a0Mescal said fans would \u201cbenefit from knowing as little as possible\u201d about them<\/a>\u00a0before watching them.\u00a0\u201cI think the\u00a0endeavour\u00a0is totally singular,\u201d he added. \u201cOn a personal level, I\u2019m so thrilled to be working on something at this\u00a0scale, but\u00a0also rooted in performance with Sam and great writers.\u201d<\/p>\n
