Hanks, who produced the epic HBO<\/a> series Band of Brothers<\/a> and The Pacific<\/a> and memorably starred in Saving Private Ryan<\/a>, is executive producer and narrator of the docuseries, which opens with three episodes. In \u201cThe Beginning,\u201d the series depicts the rise of Adolf Hitler\u2019s Nazi party in the 1930s, which shocks the world with its invasion of Poland in 1939. Germany\u2019s campaign to conquer Europe and invade the Soviet Union continues in \u201cBlitz\u201d and \u201cBarbarossa.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another rightfully describes himself as \u201ca living history. \u2026 My life is a miracle.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nicolas Cage goes full Bogart in a stylish homage to classic 1930s film noir, adapting the Marvel comic that meshes super heroics with the tone of a Raymond Chandler or Dashiell Hammett (The Maltese Falcon<\/a>) caper. Cage stars as the morose Ben Reilly, formerly known to New York as the web-slinging Spider, who hung up his suit five years earlier after a personal tragedy and now barely gets by as a private eye in Depression-era Manhattan. The luxuriant black-and-white photography helpfully seduces the viewer through a familiar tale of corruption and seduction, with Brendan Gleeson<\/a> as mob boss Silvermane, Jack Huston<\/a> as his \u201cSandman\u201d enforcer, and Li Jun Li<\/a> as femme fatale torch singer Cat Hardy. When the series premieres on Wednesday on Prime Video<\/a>, a colorized alternate version will be made available. Stick to the gorgeous black-and-white.<\/p>\n

To Allie\u2019s dismay, Oliver hits it off with Allie\u2019s new podcasting writing partner Andi (Amalia Williamson<\/a>), who wasn\u2019t invited to the ceremony but attends as Oliver\u2019s guest. Which comes in handy when the ladies get to work solving the latest crime.<\/p>\n
