Rolf Art announces, within the framework of the 2026 edition of the NODO tours, the opening of the exhibition Pre\u00e1mbulo: Parlamentos de Am\u00e9rica, a solo show by Andres Denegri (b. 1975, Buenos Aires), curated by Luciana Salv\u00e1, conceived as an ongoing research project on the forms and functioning of political systems in the Americas.<\/p>\n
Through a documentary and poetic re\ufb02ection, Denegri works with the monumental parliamentary buildings erected to manifest institutional stability, order, and democratic representation. These architectures, the central subject of the project, condense much of the symbolic dimension of the continent\u2019s political systems.<\/p>\n
The exhibition brings together a body of works created from recordings of the parliaments of Buenos Aires, Havana, and Valpara\u00edso. The buildings are portrayed \u2014 frame by frame \u2014 in situ with a Super 8 \ufb01lm camera that Denegri uses as if it were a photographic camera. This procedure generates an archive of thousands of frames that are later extracted from the cinematic sequence and reorganized according to another logic. What emerges is a form of montage that no longer operates between moving shots, but between still images, producing a rupture within the traditional system for which cinematic devices were originally conceived.<\/p>\n
The images are fragmented, displaced, and recomposed to construct new con\ufb01gurations: possible, imaginary, chimerical, and unstable reorderings that critically interrogate contemporary systems of political representation. The domestic, intimate, and minimal fragility of the \ufb01lm medium chosen by the artist thus enters into tension with the monumentality of parliamentary architecture, connecting the everyday experience of citizens with the great symbolic apparatuses of the State.<\/p>\n

The opening event will take place on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 6 PM at Rolf Art, Buenos Aires, Argentina. The exhibition, with free admission, may be visited Monday through Friday from 11 AM to 7 PM, until Friday, July 31, 2026.<\/p>\n
