Discord is now available as a native app on Qualcomm-powered PCs. As spotted by Neowin<\/a>, an ARM64 installer is now available from Discord\u2019s website as an alternative to the x86 version.<\/p>\n

The company has yet to communicate the public release of this new ARM64 version, which was said to be in the early stages of development last year<\/a>. Discord could already run through emulation on Windows on ARM, but the experience is quite subpar, as it often happens with emulated apps on Qualcomm-powered PCs.<\/p>\n

If you have a Qualcomm-powered PC, you can download this new native version of Discord from this page<\/a>. You\u2019ll need to scroll down to the \u201cdownload for desktop\u201d section of the page, then click on Windows, and select \u201cARM64\u2033 from the dropdown menu to get the correct installer.<\/p>\n

Discord is also available from the Microsoft Store<\/a> on Windows 11, but as of this writing, the store listing doesn\u2019t mention native support for ARM64 devices. That\u2019s why I recommend going straight to Discord\u2019s website to get the ARM64 installer.<\/p>\n

In case you missed it last week, Discord also announced that all voice and video calls on the platform are now end-to-end encrypted by default<\/a>. At the moment, the company doesn\u2019t plan to bring end-to-end encryption to text conversations, however.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Discord is now available as a native app on Qualcomm-powered PCs.
