There are very few people on earth who actually understand what it feels like to experience true Beatlemania-level fame. And frontman Paul McCartney thinks Taylor Swift<\/a> is one of them.<\/p>\n

During a May 24 interview with the BBC\u2019s Tracks of My Years show, the 83-year-old legend reflected on Swift\u2019s massive global popularity and admitted he sees quite a few similarities between her career and the cultural frenzy the Beatles sparked back in the 1960s.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou do see the parallel, you know\u2014the fame and the amount of fame,\u201d McCartney said in a clip shared by BBC Radio 2 on Instagram<\/a>. When asked if he\u2019d offer Swift any advice about navigating stardom, the music icon responded, \u201cI don\u2019t think she needs any advice, to tell you the truth.\u201d<\/p>\n

But if she did ever ask him, McCartney would, of course, oblige. \u201cIf she asked for it, I definitely would,\u201d he explained. \u201cI\u2019m like the older brother to that generation, or more of like that grandad, actually.\u201d<\/p>\n

The musician also spoke warmly about several younger pop stars he met through a gathering hosted by his wife, Nancy Shevell, and his daughter, Stella McCartney, both of whom are, he says, \u201cvery good at getting cool people to a party.\u201d<\/p>\n

McCartney said he crossed paths with artists including Swift, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo and Sabrina Carpenter at that party, adding, \u201cThey\u2019re really cool people. They\u2019re very good.\u201d<\/p>\n

But is he a fan?\u00a0\u201cI like their voices,\u201d he said. \u201cIf they need any advice, yeah, I would be happy to give it, but I don\u2019t think they do.\u201d<\/p>\n

Many fans of McCartney praised the singer for that humble response.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love that Sir Paul refused to mansplain superstardom to Taylor Swift,\u201d one fan wrote on a clip of the interview.<\/p>\n

\u201cA gracious answer from Paul, and, after everything he\u2019s experienced, that humility is perhaps the best advice of all,\u201d another said.<\/p>\n

A third replied, \u201cWhat a solid excellent answer. IF they ask and they don\u2019t need it. Be like Sir Paul.\u201d<\/p>\n

The interview comes just days after McCartney helped close out<\/a> the final episode of\u00a0The Late Show with Stephen Colbert with an emotional performance of the Beatles\u2019 hit \u201cHello, Goodbye\u201d inside the historic Ed Sullivan Theater. That theater is notably the same venue where Beatlemania famously exploded in America more than 60 years ago.<\/p>\n
