Sergeant Brett Cronin told the court police were \u201cstrongly opposed\u201d to granting him bail. <\/p>\n

But Judge Catriona Doyle granted bail with special conditions. This included a check-in to monitor bail compliance on June 5.<\/p>\n

The teenager would then reappear at the Invercargill Youth Court on July 3, when he is expected to enter a plea.<\/p>\n

Bomb Threats<\/p>\n

There have been several bomb threats to Auckland educational and public facilities in the past week.<\/p>\n

Auckland Art Gallery was evacuated last Thursday morning<\/a> after receiving a threatening email, which gallery director Dr Zara Stanhope later described to the Herald as a \u201choax threat\u201d.<\/p>\n

Staff and students at Kiwi College in Albany self-evacuated after an employee received an email with a bomb threat<\/a> last Tuesday morning, with police attending and clearing the address.<\/p>\n

That email said explosives were planted inside the building, and allegedly threatened, \u201cyou are all going to be blown into bloody chunks\u201d.<\/p>\n

Finance manager Jay Cheng told the Herald the threat allegedly claimed the Kiwi College facility was \u201crigged with 22 pounds of C4 explosives\u201d.<\/p>\n
