Firefighters say a fire that ripped through a rural home near the community of Frasertown in Northern Hawke\u2019s Bay was likely suspicious.<\/p>\n

\n State Highway 38 between Frasertown and Wairoa was shut for a short time on Wednesday as firefighters fought the blaze on the road between the two towns about
\n 5.10pm.\n <\/p>\n

Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman Murray Dunbar said when trucks from Wairoa and Nuhaka arrived at the scene, the house was fully alight.<\/p>\n

Crews were able to control the fire and left the scene about 7.20pm, but the house had been \u201cseverely damaged\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n
