{"id":449870,"date":"2026-05-28T18:43:12","date_gmt":"2026-05-28T18:43:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/449870\/"},"modified":"2026-05-28T18:43:12","modified_gmt":"2026-05-28T18:43:12","slug":"spotify-app-for-android-adding-playlist-folders-reshuffle-and-more","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/449870\/","title":{"rendered":"Spotify app for Android adding playlist folders, &#8216;Reshuffle,&#8217; and more"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>\t<img width=\"1600\" height=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/spotify-android-app-icon-1.jpg\" class=\"skip-lazy wp-post-image\" alt=\"\"  decoding=\"async\" fetchpriority=\"high\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Spotify is rolling out some major updates to its mobile app, including on Android, which enable support for playlist folders and the ability to \u201creshuffle\u201d your queue.<\/p>\n<p>In a series of quality-of-life updates, Spotify has four changes <a href=\"https:\/\/newsroom.spotify.com\/2026-05-28\/playlist-folders-mobile-queue-controls-updates\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">to share<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p>Playlist folders on mobile<\/p>\n<p>Upgrades to playlist and queue controls<\/p>\n<p>Background downloads on iOS<\/p>\n<p>\u201cReshuffle\u201d your queue<\/p>\n<p>Only three of those apply to Android \u2013 background downloads have been supported for Spotify\u2019s Android app for years, and it\u2019s frankly wild that iOS users still have to deal with so many problems around downloading content for offline playback without leaving the app open. It\u2019s a problem across tons of apps.<\/p>\n<p>On the Android side of things, there are some welcome changes.<\/p>\n<p>\tAdvertisement &#8211; scroll for more content<\/p>\n<p>Playlist folders are super useful for organizing your playlists and saved albums, but they\u2019ve always been a desktop exclusive. Now, on mobile, you can create and manage folders through the \u201c+\u201d menu.<\/p>\n<p>Playlists and queues are also getting better control over tracks, with the ability to select multiple tracks at a time to remove them from the queue or from a playlist. The queue is also getting a one-tap \u201cReshuffle\u201d button that can change up the order instead of double-tapping on the shuffle button.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"
