The Final Jam may have played over 15 years ago, but at long last, Camp Rock<\/a> is ready for an encore. The Disney Channel<\/a> film series starring the Jonas Brothers<\/a> and introducing a whole generation to pop icon Demi Lovato<\/a> is coming back this summer with Camp Rock 3, introducing a new cast of talented young artists looking to hone their musical talents like Mitchie Torres and her friends once did. The beloved band is back, too, reprising their roles as Connect 3 and searching for a new act to join them on their big reunion tour. As we wrap up Collider’s Exclusive Summer Preview<\/a> series, we’re thrilled to include the rocking threequel as our closing act and share two new images of the latest young stars looking to show what they’re made of.<\/p>\n

Our first still is an ensemble shot of the latest round of campgoers jamming together on the bus<\/a> en route to their new summer getaway. At the center of Camp Rock 3 are the sister and brother duo Sage and Desi, played by High School Musical: The Musical: The Series<\/a> star Liamani Segura and newcomer Hudson Stone. They seem to be fitting right in with their other musically-inclined peers, including the camp bad boy Fletch (Malachi Barton) with his guitar, cello prodigy Rosie (Lumi Pollack), and a drummer named Cliff (Casey Trotter) who marches to his own beat, regardless of what anyone tells him. Like the previous two films, there’s also a bit of love in the air<\/a> by the docks, echoing the connection Mitchie and Shane (Joe Jonas) formed while at camp.<\/p>\n

Although the return to Camp Rock marks the beginning of new friendships, good-natured rivalries, and love stories, the tension gets turned up a notch when Connect 3 arrives back at their old stomping grounds. Their tour is in dire straits with the loss of their opening act, and they decide the old camp that made them the stars they are is the perfect place to search for the next big thing. In the campers’ efforts to prove to their favorite band that they’re ready for the bright lights, burgeoning bonds are tested, surprising alliances are formed, bitter feuds ignite, and revelations come to light that threaten to change their lives forever.<\/p>\n

‘Camp Rock 3’ Jams With Stars New and Old<\/p>\n

Camp Rock 3 isn’t the only music-based movie that one or more of the Jonas Brothers have rocked out in of late. Nick Jonas<\/a> is also starring as a washed-up boy band member in the revenge comedy Power Ballad<\/a> with Paul Rudd, which just hit theaters amid rave reviews<\/a>. Now years removed from his original days with the DCOM franchise, he, Joe, and Kevin Jonas are playing very different, grown-up versions of their characters as they hand the spotlight to the newcomers. Rounding out the young stars are Brooklynn Pitts and Ava Jean, with Joy Ride<\/a>‘s Sherry Cola also coming aboard and Maria Canals-Barrera returning as Mitchie’s mother, Connie. Alas, Lovato won’t be singing “This Is Me” again, but she was with the Camp Rockers in spirit as an executive producer with the Jonas Brothers, while The Slumber Party duo Veronica Rodriguez and Eydie Faye directed and wrote the film.<\/p>\n
