For all of us who binged every episode in a single night and became completely obsessed with the show, while impatiently waiting for season two, the only thing left to do is consume every possible piece of content about the cast and spend the next few months following their every move. At least that\u2019s my plan for the summer. Alongside the male cast members who completely captivated audiences, not just teenage viewers but also an entire spectrum of adults of which I am a proud honorary member, I\u2019m sure you also couldn\u2019t miss the breakout new face of the first season, lead actress Ella Bright, who plays the character of Hannah Wells.<\/p>\n

Personally, beyond all the TikTok edits of Grarett and his equally attractive teammates, I find the hype surrounding Ella Bright even more interesting, especially how quickly she has become the new it girl for a generation growing up between TikTok, Pinterest moodboards, and nostalgia for 2000s romantic teen dramas. She has that rare combination that can turn someone into an internet phenomenon almost overnight: she feels both completely unattainable and like the kind of person you\u2019d want to sit on the floor of a dorm room with at three in the morning, analyzing your love life together. Her aesthetic is already flooding social media, from oversized hoodies and sporty looks to beauty styling that feels like it came straight out of an old Tumblr folder.<\/p>\n

There is something much more spontaneous about her presence, something that feels genuinely closer to the generation that practically turned her into an internet obsession overnight. She feels like the kind of girl you would discover through Letterboxd lists, in the comments under Phoebe Bridgers songs, or on a Pinterest board titled \u201ccollege autumn aesthetic.\u201d And that is exactly why the internet is currently projecting onto her everything it once did with young actresses like Alexis Bledel or Mischa Barton, only now through a much faster TikTok algorithm and contemporary internet aesthetics.<\/p>\n Getty images<\/p>\n A large part of her appeal comes precisely from the way she plays Hannah Wells. Instead of the classic \u201ccool girl\u201d heroine who feels emotionally untouchable, Hannah is somewhat insecure, but not in the traditionally withdrawn or shy way. She is very open and witty, at times chaotic and emotionally transparent. Female characters like this have become some of the most important pop culture protagonists of a generation raised on oversharing, the therapeutic language of the internet, and the constant attempt to turn emotions into content.
