Renate Reinsve<\/a> is already an Oscar-nominated actress, so it seems difficult for someone\u2019s star power to first be on the rise, but she\u2019s about to have a huge year thanks to her movie Backrooms. <\/p>\n The 38-year-old Norwegian actress stars in newcomer director Kane Parsons\u2018 new movie, which is the feature-length version of his popular YouTube series. <\/p>\n Renate is best known for her star-making performance in 2021\u2019s The Worst Person in the World, for which she won Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival. She later earned an Oscar nomination for her performance in last year\u2019s Sentimental Value. <\/p>\n So, who is Renate\u2018s boyfriend?<\/p>\n Renate is dating Norwegian filmmaker Halfdan Ullmann T\u00f8ndel<\/p>\n Renate is in a relationship with Halfdan Ullmann T\u00f8ndel.<\/p>\n Halfdan is the grandson of legendary Norwegian actress Liv Ullmann and Swedish director Ingmar Bergman. <\/p>\n Just a couple years ago, Halfdan\u2019s directorial debut Armand, which starred Renate, won the Camera d\u2019Or award at the Cannes Film Festival. <\/p>\n They\u2019ve discussed their \u201cchemistry\u201d in a Vogue cover story<\/p>\n Vogue Scandinavia featured Renate and Halfdan on the cover of the magazine in January 2025, with editor-in-chief Martina Bonnier calling them the \u201cNorwegian film power couple.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWe have a really special chemistry and we kind of thrive on each other\u2019s work and ideas,\u201d Haldan said in the interview<\/a>. <\/p>\n Halfdan has also compared Renate to his grandmother!<\/p>\n \u201cFor the first time since my grandmother we have a true Norwegian star with Renate! I can\u2019t speak to its relation to the past of Nordic cinema because it was so different making films when Ingmar was doing it.
