Back in 2020, Cara Delevingne offered some vocals for the title track of Fiona Apple’s blockbuster album Fetch The Bolt Cutters<\/a>, including a meow. Now, the reclusive singer-songwriter repaid the favor by co-writing a song on Delevingne’s debut album, which is coming this summer via Warner.<\/p>\n

Yesterday (May 29), the actress and model released “I Forgot” and “Out Of My Head,” her debut singles (aside from a track for the Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planet soundtrack in 2017). They were co-produced by\u00a0Delevingne\u00a0with\u00a0BJ Burton\u00a0(Bon Iver, Charli XCX).<\/p>\n

According to Rolling Stone<\/a>, Apple cowrote a song called “Need It,” which the magazine dubs “club-ready.” About the collaboration, Delevingne said: <\/p>\n

We were writing things down on Post-it notes and sending them to each other, which is really funny, because we could have just been texting these lyrics. I wanted to do a song that honored her \u2014 honored her impact for me as a person and as an artist. I think without the experience of going in the studio with her, I\u2019d never have felt like I could be myself, a bit like a kid, and not have to act like I know what I\u2019m doing or perform or change myself.<\/p>\n

Along with her contribution to Fetch The Bolt Cutters, she also cowrote Dijon’s “Yamahan” from last year’s beloved Baby<\/a>. “Music was always that dream I had, but never believed I would get the opportunity to create,”\u00a0Delevingne\u00a0says of her music debut. “Writing ‘I Forgot’ felt like a rebirth for me and ‘Out Of My Head’ was like going to therapy. Everything has felt like it\u2019s led up to this point and I can\u2019t wait for everyone to experience it.”<\/p>\n

We still don’t yet know the album title, but more information seems imminent. The songs come with a music video directed by Jessica Lee Gagn\u00e9. Watch below.<\/p>\n
