The staff for the television anime<\/a> of Hiromu Arakawa<\/a>‘s Daemons of the Shadow Realm<\/a> (Yomi no Tsugai) manga revealed five new cast members on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Square Enix Manga & Books<\/a> is releasing<\/a> the manga in English, and it describes the story:<\/p>\n

In a remote mountain village under the watchful eyes of two stone guardians, the young Yuru contentedly lives off the land while staying close to the only family he has left\u2014Asa, his precious twin sister. Asa, meanwhile, carries out a mysterious \u201cduty\u201d on behalf of the village while locked in a cage. Why is Asa a prisoner? And what other secrets does Yuru’s otherwise idyllic home hide?<\/p>\n

The anime stars:<\/p>\n

Masahiro And\u014d<\/a> (Sword of the Stranger<\/a>) is directing the anime at Bones Film<\/a>. Noboru Takagi<\/a> (Kingdom<\/a> seasons 3-6, Golden Kamuy<\/a> first four seasons) is overseeing the series scripts, and Nobuhiro Arai<\/a> (Bungo Stray Dogs<\/a>) is designing the characters and serving as chief animation director. Kenichiro Suehiro<\/a> (Golden Kamuy, Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-<\/a> franchises) is composing the music. Vaundy<\/a> performs the opening theme song (for the anime’s first half) titled “Tobu Toki” (Time to Fly), and singer yama<\/a> performs the ending theme song “Tob\u014d yo” (Let’s Fly).<\/p>\n

The anime premiered<\/a> on the Tokyo MX<\/a>, BS11<\/a>, Gunma TV<\/a>, and Tochigi TV<\/a> channels on April 4 at 11:30 p.m. (10:30 a.m. EDT). It is also running on HTB<\/a> Hokkaido TV<\/a>, Aomori Broadcasting, Miyagi TV<\/a>, Sakuranbo TV<\/a>, TV-U Fukushima<\/a>, Television Niigata Network Co., Ltd.<\/a>, and other channels. The anime will air for two consecutive cours<\/a> (quarters of a year). Crunchyroll<\/a> streamed the anime first<\/a> before other services and is streaming a same-day English dub<\/a> for the series.<\/p>\n

Arakawa (Fullmetal Alchemist<\/a>, Silver Spoon<\/a>) launched<\/a> the manga in Square Enix<\/a>‘s Monthly Shonen Gangan<\/a> magazine in December 2021. Square Enix will publish the manga’s 13th compiled book volume on July 10.<\/p>\n
