Tina Fey is a member of one of the funniest group chats around.<\/p>\n

The actor has developed close friendships with several female \u201cSaturday Night Live\u201d alums over the years, and the ladies stay in touch regularly via text message. <\/p>\n

While stopping by Studio 1A June 1, Fey said summer 2026 is shaping up to be \u201cepic\u201d for the \u201c\u2018SNL\u2019 lady group chat,\u201d especially for Ana Gasteyer, Rachel Dratch and Maya Rudolph. <\/p>\n

\u201cAll three (are) on Broadway. Two of them are Tony-nominated. The only reason Maya\u2019s not Tony-nominated is because she can\u2019t be because her show\u2019s already open. Otherwise, I mean, they\u2019re all crushing it,\u201d she told TODAY\u2019s Savannah Guthrie.<\/p>\n

Members of the group chat have all been lending their support to their friends as they take the stage on Broadway. Gasteyer stars in \u201cSchmigadoon!,\u201d Dratch in \u201cThe Rocky Horror Picture Show\u201d and Rudolph as the title character in \u201cOh, Mary!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe all went in various groups to go see (their shows),\u201d Fey said.<\/p>\n

Alongside her pal Amy Poehler, Fey spearheaded efforts to make T-shirts to celebrate their three friends heading to Broadway.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were like, \u2018We have to honor this. We have to have shirts made.\u2019 And we were like, \u2018We need to find the worst \u201980s theater kid font,\u2019\u201d she recalled.<\/p>\n

Fey went on to reveal the name of the group chat: \u201cThe \u2018SNL\u2019 TANG.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cDon\u2019t try to figure out why. It\u2019s terrible but we\u2019re stuck with it,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Fey then held up the T-shirt, which featured the text, \u201cTANG on Broadway! 2026,\u201d along with a top hat on the front and the logos of each of the Broadway shows on the back.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd so we would like to make you an honorary member of our group chat and give you this \u2018cause it\u2019s the summer of \u2018SNL\u2019 ladies on Broadway,\u201d Fey said as she handed the shirt to Savannah.<\/p>\n

\u201cOh my gosh, thank you. I will wear it with pride. Thank you so much,\u201d Savannah replied.<\/p>\n
