The practice described Hudson as \u201ca very much loved and respected doctor, friend and colleague\u201d.<\/p>\n
Tributes poured in from patients, colleagues and community members following the announcement, with many describing Hudson as a compassionate and dedicated doctor who cared for multiple generations of local families.<\/p>\n
One former patient wrote: \u201cI doubt that there will ever be another GP like Dr Martin. He took the time to know his patients and treated them with respect and dignity. There were no time restrictions.\u201d<\/p>\n
Another described him as \u201ca lovely man\u201d who had cared for their parents, while others remembered him as \u201cthe best family doctor\u201d, \u201ca great doctor\u201d and \u201cthe most wonderful caring GP and man\u201d.<\/p>\n
Several people recalled Hudson\u2019s long medical career in the region. <\/p>\n
Others credited him with providing life-changing care, including one former patient who thanked him for saving a younger sibling\u2019s life as a baby.<\/p>\n
Many messages highlighted his kindness and reassurance during difficult periods of illness.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe was so very kind when our mum was unwell, very reassuring and very caring,\u201d one person wrote.<\/p>\n
Another said Hudson was \u201cone of the finest doctors I had ever come across\u201d.<\/p>\n
Greenwood Health said details of a commemoration event would be shared at the practice and on its website in the coming weeks. <\/p>\n
A memorial website is also being established for friends, family and patients to share memories and tributes.<\/p>\n
Hudson is survived by his wife, Michelle, daughters and wider family.<\/p>\n
