She married for the first time at age 16.

She had her first brush with show business in 1944, while working in a factory, when a photographer arrived to capture photos of women working on production lines during World War II.

Launching into the world of modelling soon afterwards, she divorced her husband and made a history-defining decision: dyeing her brown hair platinum blonde.

She landed her first contract with Fox and by the age of 30 had established herself as a global star.

Behind the scenes, Monroe founded her own production company, attended the prestigious Actors Studio in New York and even defied the studios.

<img alt="The opening reception for Marilyn Monroe: Hollywood Icon at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles, California. Kennedy and with his brother Robert F. Kennedy, as well as with Hollywood figures like Marlon Brando and Frank Sinatra.

Monroe died from a drug overdose in her Los Angeles home in August 1962. She was just 36 years old.

– AFP

One hundred roses and a cake were placed at the site, a symbol of Hollywood’s golden age and…

[8
3548,15316,6325,232243,7573,13978,156,1444,51500,4223,7560,132523,9878,132524,3025,111,139,69,90,7811,232244,9068,1530
post-456859","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-entertainment","tag-3548","tag-birth","tag-birthday","tag-breathy","tag-celebrated","tag-daughters","tag-entertainment","tag-famous","tag-happy","tag-hollywood","tag-honours","tag-marilyn","tag-monday","tag-monroe","tag-most","tag-new-zealand","tag-newzealand","tag-nz","tag-on","tag-since","tag-tinseltown","tag-wished","tag-years
["GET
