\n People have been invited to let their imagination take flight and come up with names for a sculpture of airplane wings.\n<\/p>\n
\n The model is based at Veterans Central West Raynham SHQ and is the remains of an old home-built aircraft that had to be destroyed.\n<\/p>\n

\n A spokesman for the charity based near Fakenham said: “We stared at the wings, which are just frameworks with no covering and kept trying to come up with ideas as to how to make use of them.\n<\/p>\n
\n “There is still landscaping to do in the area but we also decided that the wings would make a great sculpture on the low mound behind that area.\n<\/p>\n
\n “They were varnished and mounted and now need a name and we would welcome ideas.”\n<\/p>\n

\n Anything that uses \u2018Angel of\u2019 has been banned by the charity to avoid copying the Angel of the North.\n<\/p>\n
\n The Angel of the North was designed by Anthony Gormley and at first people did not warm to his blueprint, but eventually they were won over.\n<\/p>\n
\n With its prime location on a panoramic hilltop by the A1 at Gateshead, the Angel of the North has become one of the most famous artworks in the region.\n<\/p>\n

\n A statement from Gateshead Council says: “The Angel of the North is as much a part of Gateshead’s identity as the Statue of Liberty is to New York.\n<\/p>\n
\n “Since it first spread its wings in February 1998, it has become one of the most talked about and recognisable pieces of public art ever produced.\n<\/p>\n
\n “Local residents have fallen in love with the Angel and it has become synonymous with Gateshead.”\n<\/p>\n
