His comments come on the heels of CBS\u2019s decision to cancel Stephen Colbert\u2019s The Late Show after a successful run of eleven seasons.<\/p>\n During an interview with Vulture<\/a> on Monday, Kimmel admitted that he had previously picked out an endpoint. The 58-year-old said, \u201cSix years ago, I told them I thought I was done when Biden was president.\u201d Interestingly, last year ABC offered Kimmel only a one-year extension, rather than the show\u2019s typical three-year renewal.<\/p>\n Kimmel responded with an expression of understanding, \u201cEverything is so tumultuous. That seemed to make sense. It\u2019s definitely not how it\u2019s gone in the past.\u201d<\/p>\n The host also revealed that ABC would typically begin discussions about renewing his contract around this time. However, the network has not yet broached the subject.<\/p>\n Kimmel confessed, \u201cI don\u2019t know what ABC is going to want to do. Kimmel said, \u201cIt\u2019s important to me to be responsible.
