Here are five rumored new features in iOS 27 that I\u2019m most excited about.<\/p>\n<p>#1: New Siri<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1000\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/siri-ios19-white.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-997297\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Siri is <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5mac.com\/2026\/04\/01\/ios-27s-new-siri-is-coming-and-sounds-very-much-worth-the-wait\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">expected to get its biggest overhaul ever<\/a> in iOS 27, with a Google Gemini-based foundation powering a set of modern AI features.<\/p>\n<p id=\"h-1-new-siri\">Here\u2019s a sampling of\u00a0Siri\u2019s rumored upgrades:<\/p>\n<p>new Siri app on Home Screen<\/p>\n<p>conversational, chatbot-like interface <\/p>\n<p>Dynamic Island integration<\/p>\n<p>world knowledge to match AI competitors<\/p>\n<p>can perform multiple actions with one request<\/p>\n<p>more third-party AI extensions<\/p>\n<p>app intents, onscreen awareness, and personal context features that were previously announced<\/p>\n<p>and more<\/p>\n<p>A lot is riding on Apple\u2019s Siri overhaul, including <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5mac.com\/2026\/04\/02\/apple-reportedly-has-four-new-products-ready-to-launch-pending-one-thing\/\" type=\"post\" id=\"1046438\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">several new products that are waiting for it<\/a>. I\u2019m excited and hopeful that iOS 27\u2019s Siri will be worth the wait.<\/p>\n<p>#2: Nutrition label scanning and Health features<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1000\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/visual-intelligence-poster-iphone16.jpg\" alt=\"Visual intelligence\" class=\"wp-image-971256\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>One new visual intelligence feature <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5mac.com\/2026\/05\/08\/ios-27-has-new-features-coming-for-two-of-iphones-most-popular-apps\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">rumored<\/a> for iOS 27 is the ability to scan nutrition labels to easily import that data into iPhone\u2019s Health app.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve used a variety of calorie-tracking apps over the years, with my current favorite being <a href=\"https:\/\/apps.apple.com\/us\/app\/macrofactor-macro-tracker\/id1553503471\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">MacroFactor<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>iOS 27 is expected to not only let you scan nutrition labels for easy dietary logging, but the Health app is also expected to add a more robust set of nutrition-related features. As happy as I am with MacroFactor, I\u2019m excited to see Apple\u2019s own take on a calorie-tracking tool.<\/p>\n<p>#3: Liquid Glass changes<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1000\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/liquid-glass-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1046896\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m not a Liquid Glass hater in any way. But there are certain aspects of the iPhone\u2019s new design that bother me on a daily basis.<\/p>\n<p>Apple is <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5mac.com\/2026\/05\/29\/ios-27-rumored-to-bring-new-design-changes-in-two-key-areas\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">rumored<\/a> to have refinements for Liquid Glass coming in iOS 27, and possibly a new systemwide slider. As I\u2019ve <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5mac.com\/2026\/05\/13\/ios-27s-new-design-leak-sounds-a-lot-like-what-ive-been-wanting-most\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">written elsewhere though<\/a>, the change I want most centers around the tab bar in apps like Music and Podcasts.<\/p>\n<p>In select iOS 26 apps, the tab bar minimizes as you scroll, requiring extra taps every time you want to access it or use controls like skip buttons in the above media apps. I\u2019m optimistic that year two of Liquid Glass will fix these shortcomings.<\/p>\n<p>#4: Add to Notes<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1000\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/apple-notes-ios-26.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1013255\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s technically a Siri feature too, but one rumored iOS 27 addition I\u2019m especially excited for is a more powerful \u2018Add to Notes\u2019 option.<\/p>\n<p>Siri already offers some limited Notes capabilities. But those features should be far more useful in iOS 27.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theinformation.com\/articles\/apple-using-gemini-give-chatgpt-like-answers\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Per The Information<\/a>, Siri will be able to tap into your Apple Notes database to help you easily save data it shares with you.<\/p>\n<p>If Siri\u2019s new intelligence can easily be added to new and existing notes, as a heavy Apple Notes user I know that\u2019s a feature I\u2019ll get a lot of value from.<\/p>\n<p>#5: Subtitles for all videos<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"4208\" height=\"2104\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/nz\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/iphone-video-subtitles-caption.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1039839\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Everything above is based on rumors, but generated subtitles is a confirmed iOS 27 feature that Apple has <a href=\"https:\/\/9to5mac.com\/2026\/05\/19\/ios-27s-new-video-feature-could-prove-one-of-apples-best-additions\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">already announced<\/a>. Per the announcement:<\/p>\n<p>With new generated subtitles, videos can display transcriptions of spoken audio automatically when captions or subtitles are not already provided, including in clips recorded on iPhone, received from friends and family, or streamed online.<\/p>\n<p>There are times almost every day when I want to watch a video with subtitles and none are available. Sometimes it\u2019s because I\u2019m listening to a podcast and don\u2019t want to interrupt it, other times I just don\u2019t want to disturb anyone with the video\u2019s sound.
